Description Cyberattacks are growing in number and severity, impacting industries and services crucial to maintaining our day-to-day life and national security. Energy, health, commerce, and defense are constantly under attack, and successful breaches have far-reaching consequences. Our group works to defend our nation from cyberattacks by channeling our interests to develop state-of-the-art technologies. We are seeking graduates who are passionate about software development, systems engineering, or cybersecurity to join our Cyber Concepts and Exploration group (QCE) to contribute to our mission of creating solutions to the most pressing cybersecurity problems. If you are graduating in 2027 with a Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Cybersecurity or other similar disciplines and want to work in an exciting and collaborative environment to solve challenging technical national security problems, we'd love to have you join our group. As a member of our group you will... Work on projects focusing on formal methods, malware analysis, quantum computing, cryptography, or assured software development. Network and learn from experienced individuals across industry and academia. Participate in fun activities like our yearly summer cookout and weekly board game nights! Qualifications You meet the minimum requirements if you....Have a Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Cybersecurity or other similar discipline. Have programming experience with Java, Python, C/C++, or other common programming languages.Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently and on a team.Are interested in performing research and exploring new cyber and software concepts.Are able to obtain an Interim Secret level security clearance by your start date and can ultimately obtain a Secret level clearance. If selected, you will be subject to a government security clearance investigation and must meet the requirements for access to classified information. Have strong software engineering skills and familiarity with version control systems. Have a strong background in discrete math or algorithms. The referenced pay range is based on JHU APL’s good faith belief at the time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as geographic location, work experience, market conditions, education/training and skill level with consideration for internal parity. For salaried employees scheduled to work less than 40 hours per week, annual salary will be prorated based on the number of hours worked. APL may offer bonuses or other forms of compensation per internal policy and/or contractual designation. Additional compensation may be provided in the form of a sign-on bonus, relocation benefits, locality allowance or discretionary payments for exceptional performance.
